"Mountainside" is a log cabin built in 1983 from trees that once occupied the land it sits on. This three-level, 2400 square foot home is located minutes from Blowing Rock, in the northwestern most part of North Carolina, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, some of the oldest mountains in the world.

The spacious floor plan offers three levels, including a large great room, den, sleeping loft, four bedrooms, covered front porch, back deck with picnic table, covered front porch with rocking chairs and swing, and a new screened porch overlooking a large yard and stream running through the property.

There is an open living, dining and kitchen area, with vaulting ceiling and wood-burning fireplace. The fully-equipped kitchen includes microwave, disposal, trash compactor, dishwasher, and coffee-maker. Bedrooms include the master (king bed) on the main floor, three bedrooms on the lower level (one with queen bed, one with double bed, and one with two twins), and the loft (with two twin trundle beds), to accommodate as many as twelve. Additionally there is a full-sized futon in the downstairs den.

The historic, charming mountain village of Blowing Rock sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide at an elevation of 4000 feet. The area is rich in beauty, culture and recreation – offering unique shops, restaurants, golf, skiing and horseback riding, as well as some of the finest nature-scapes America has to offer.

Cultural opportunities include a professional summer stock theater, an outdoor drama, concerts in the park, and a series of juried arts and crafts shows from May to October. Recreational activities include abundant streams and lakes for canoeing and fishing, as well as riding trails, golf courses, campgrounds, hiking, picnic areas, and ski facilities.
