Paradise Coast "Olde Florida" Island Fishing Village

You've found one of Florida's last undeveloped fishing villages.Goodland is a tiny one-square mile island in the coastal Florida Everglades area known as the "Ten Thousand Islands" protected just inside Coon Key Pass from the Gulf of Mexico.

Most of the island chain is protected within the National Wildlife Refuge or Everglades National Park. Basically, we're on the edge of civilization; the western gateway to the pristine Everglades coastal wilderness teeming with wildlife. Think of it as nature's gigantic water park, without boundaries.

On the other hand, we're close to upscale residential Marco Island and near the sophisticated coastal resort playground of Naples. The Travel Channel ranked the Marco Island and Naples white sandy beaches as being the Number One "All-Around Best Beach" in their "America's Best Beaches 2005" series.

This ground floor apartment in our two-story home built in 2002 is newly furnished with a beach cottage feel. The walls are white cedar tongue and groove and the yard is nicely landscaped. The private 10'x12' screened porch has a barbeque grill and allows outdoor dining with table and chairs. The great room contains a queen-sized futon couch, armchairs, tables and tv/vcr along with large closets, books, games, video library and dining table and chairs. The bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed, dresser, nightstand, cable tv/vcr and large clothes closet. Full bathroom includes tub and shower.

There are ample new linens throughout. A large recreation room has a single roll away bed with cable tv/vcr and additional games such as darts, ring toss, miniature pool table and use of 2 bicycles. The kitchen is fully furnished with refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, blender and juicer. It comes complete with new cookware, utensils, dishes and flatware. The 800 square foot apartment interior is air conditioned and has ceiling fans in each room and back porch.

With the combination of parks and nature preserves, beautiful beaches, year-round boating and fishing, a host of family attractions nearby, world-class shopping, museums, challenging golf courses, and dining options from the casual to the utmost in elegance, it's no wonder we're called Florida's "Paradise Coast".

We have 3 waterfront restaurants within walking distance. Since the speeds are limited to 25 mph on the island, golf carts and bicycles are a common mode of transportation. Couples enjoy their morning and evening walks on our safe, colorful, narrow streets.
