House:
Built completely from old growth redwood, no longer available, the proud
craftsmanship of yesteryear is evident in the detail rich exterior mouldings
and trim. Likewise the classic proportions of 19 century Italianate
Victorian architecture no longer conforms with coastal commission building
guidelines and cannot be replicated. This house was built less than
four years after the completion of the transcontinental railroad in
1869.
Garden: Located on 4 acres of organic farm land, the yard has
extensive lawns and hedges, with plenty of room for the garden dreams
of future generations.
The Master Bedroom:The Master Bedroom has stunning ocean views
and direct access to the full width balcony on top of the front verandah.
An antique faux marble fireplace with an ornate iron grill discreetly
hides a gas fireplace
The
Master Bath contains an enormous pedestal bath tub with shower.
One can look out over the ocean while taking a shower. Tiled walls and
its own radiant heat system under the marble floors make for a truly
luxurious experience. The same radiant heat system runs throughout the
house.
The Parlor features the original marble fireplace.
Its' 19th century French chandelier, wall sconces and gold walls give
it a luxurious ambiance at night. During the day one can enjoy valley
and ocean views from its' nine foot tall windows.
The Library/Dining Room has an antique marble fireplace (Salvaged
from a San Francisco victorian) and views of the ocean. The ceiling
is fit with a gorgeous box beam ceiling and ornate plaster corbels
It can accomodate a sixteen foot long dining table making it perfect
for grand dinner parties and large holiday gatherings
The Kitchen is fitted with fabulous custom designed cabinets
with marble tops a farmhouse sink and the original pantry cupboards.
One of its' many amenities is a magnificent 1915 Glenwood gas stove
complete with double ovens, a broiler and a bun warmer in perfect working
order
There are Fisher and Paykel 'Dishdrawers' dishwashers, a Sub-Zero refrigerator
and freezer, a garbage disposal and a reverse osmosis water purification
system.
