36 Credits

6 Bedrooms (2 located in separate Carriage House Apartment)

Open the windows and fall asleep to the sounds of crashing surf. Just a short distance to a lovely, uncrowded beach.

A splendid Victorian mansion on four acres overlooking the Monterey Bay.
Its' magnificent two story verandah offers stunning views from Santa Cruz down to Monterey. It is considered an 'Italianate' Victorian because of It's classical mouldings and grand proportions. All of its ceilings are nearly 13 feet high with sumptuous crown mouldings. It has beautiful period features throughout

Location: One and a half hours to San Francisco, forty minutes to San Jose International Airport and just ten minutes to Watsonville Airport for those with private aircraft. Fifteen minutes to Santa Cruz and thirty minutes to Monterey and Carmel

House: Built completely from old growth redwood, no longer available, the proud craftsmanship of yesteryear is evident in the detail rich exterior mouldings and trim. Likewise the classic proportions of 19 century Italianate Victorian architecture no longer conforms with coastal commission building guidelines and cannot be replicated. This house was built less than four years after the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869.

Garden: Located on 4 acres of organic farm land, the yard has extensive lawns and hedges, with plenty of room for the garden dreams of future generations.

The Master Bedroom:The Master Bedroom has stunning ocean views and direct access to the full width balcony on top of the front verandah. An antique faux marble fireplace with an ornate iron grill discreetly hides a gas fireplace

The Master Bath contains an enormous pedestal bath tub with shower. One can look out over the ocean while taking a shower. Tiled walls and its own radiant heat system under the marble floors make for a truly luxurious experience. The same radiant heat system runs throughout the house.

The Parlor features the original marble fireplace.
Its' 19th century French chandelier, wall sconces and gold walls give it a luxurious ambiance at night. During the day one can enjoy valley and ocean views from its' nine foot tall windows.

The Library/Dining Room has an antique marble fireplace (Salvaged from a San Francisco victorian) and views of the ocean. The ceiling is fit with a gorgeous box beam ceiling and ornate plaster corbels
It can accomodate a sixteen foot long dining table making it perfect for grand dinner parties and large holiday gatherings

The Kitchen is fitted with fabulous custom designed cabinets with marble tops a farmhouse sink and the original pantry cupboards. One of its' many amenities is a magnificent 1915 Glenwood gas stove complete with double ovens, a broiler and a bun warmer in perfect working order
There are Fisher and Paykel 'Dishdrawers' dishwashers, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, a garbage disposal and a reverse osmosis water purification system.
