Lake is renowned as the trophy lake for catching Rainbow trout and for water skiing.
There is a Hot Water beach on the other side of the lake to bath in (Boat access
only) There is the Redwood forest close by which is called "The Disneyland
of Mountain Biking" for mountain bikers and also great walks through the
forest. Rotorua
is a thermal wonderland with many hot pools and spas (The Polynesian Pools
and The Bathhouse etc) and the local Thermal tourist attractions of: Waimangu
Thermal Valley to the world's largest hot spring and the amazing craters of
Waimangu Volcanic Rift Valley. These craters were formed during the 1886 Tarawera
Eruption. Amazing beauty, spectacular scenery, incredible geothermal activity,
a nature lover's paradise. Frying Pan Lake, Cathedral Rocks
Te Wairoa Buried Village Originally "The Gateway to the Terraces,"
Te Wairoa village was buried under ash, lava and mud in the 1886 eruption. Today
you can stroll through the excavations, see eruption exhibits, the Te Wairoa stream,
waterfalls and bush walk. Crater Lake Rotomahana, the largest crater
of the 1886 Tarawera Eruption Blue and Green Lakes "Lake
Tikitapu and Lake Rotokakahi" Being a tourist city there are Maori Concerts,
which are excellent. Excellent Golf courses are about the city and accessible. The
