Masca,
Omoa Bay, Honduras, Central America 6 Bedrooms, 7.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps a maximum of 18 Luxurious Masca Beachfront 4-Acre Family Estate
This six-bedroom family estate has spectacular views of the wide, truly unspoiled, sandy beaches stretching as far as the eyes can see, up to an unexplored mangrove ecosystem; with no houses, no people and no hotels! Untouched pristine beaches, whose only inhabitants are coconut palms, exotic plants, shore birds, iguanas, butterflies, turtles and crabs surround this unique beachfront property, called a paradise by our visitors. Many activities are available on site or nearby, such as horseback riding on the beach, fishing or snorkeling and scuba diving in the world's best Coral barrier reef to a thrill ride & Canopy tour into the rainforest full of adventure !!! Honduras is in the top ten (10) travel destinations (Elissa Leibowitz, The Washington Post, January 05, 2004). We are a "Geotourism" destination, which refers to "Tourism that sustain or enhances the geographic character of a place - its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well being of its residents". Supporting partners, who signed the "SAVE" alliance with the Honduran government include The National Geographic Society, George Washington University and Counterpart International, all based in Washington, D.C. (National Geographic News, October 25, 2004). Behind our estate lies the impressive Merendon Mountain, home of the 60,000-acre CUSUCO NATIONAL PARK, which has a tropical rainforest and a highland cloud forest, both featuring exotic wildlife (National Geographic Magazine, February 2001 issue). Our fully-equipped, furnished, and decorated family estate has six bedrooms, living/dining room, kitchen, seven-and-one-half bathrooms, 1700-square-foot hardwood deck, swimming pool, terrace overlooking the beach, deck and pool, palapa with hammocks, horses'barn; storage room, laundry facilities, and employee's housing, perfectly designed, distributed, and built within four (4) acres of land. All rooms and living areas have air conditioning. The estate is fully staffed with an excellent gourmet cook, maid, driver, pool service, and gardener. We are located in Masca, Omoa Bay, 65 miles Northwest from San Pedro Sula's International Airport (please see map shown on the last photo of this page). "It was great to have a lovely spot to accomodate the whole family for our Christmas vacation together/family reunion, seventeen in all, ages nearly three to seventy three. The kids took part in, and loved doing everything the growns-ups did; snorkeling, the zip line, boat trip to the lagoon, visit to the Fort and the wonderful trip to Copan"; wrote in our Guestbook, Linda Pauling Kamb, daughter of Dr. Linus Carl Pauling, the only person ever to receive two unshared Nobel Prizes - for Chemistry (1954) and for Peace (1962) and ranked by the British Journal New Scientist, as one of the top twenty scientists of all time. "Because Americans feel safer, enjoy white sand beaches, sunny days and cheaper living, They are increasingly visiting Honduras for a vacation or as a retirement place" (The Washington Post, Sunday, August 29, 2004, page A18).
