White Sandy Beaches....... Prince
Edward Island, is the smallest of the Canadian provinces both in size and popultation.
The Province is also called 'PEI', or simply 'The Island'. The capital city is
Charlottetown. Summerfield
Lodge is a spacious, secluded summer residence situated near a beautiful white
sand beach. It is surrounded by fields of green and gold to the south and a stately
stand of pine trees to the north.
We are located on the east end of the island about 10 miles from Souris near
Red Point Provincial Park and Basin Head Fisheries Museum. Souris offers several
grocery stores, restaurants, and a modern hospital.
The lodge is a renovated turn of the century farm house complete with antique
furnishings on six acres with ocean view a large living room, dining room, kitchen,
den, porch and bath on first floor. There are four bedrooms and bath on second
floor. A beautiful post and beam barn/workshop. Amenities
incude central heating, telephone, washer & dryer etc.
A 10 minute walk across a field and over the sand dunes brings you to the beach,
which simply put, is perfect. Sheltered on the south side of the Island from those
cold north winds, it is about a mile long with a high bluff on either end. Pure
white sand extends out in a gradual shelf to gentle ocean waters warmed by gulf
stream.
